Purpose of Forum

The purpose of the Forum is to:

1. Articulate the mandate, membership and operation of the Forum;

2. Develop, control, implement and review policies for First Nations children, youth and their families aimed at strengthening programs and services as well as promoting quality programs of care, education and treatment.

3. Facilitate the development of a First Nations Child and Family Service practice standards framework for the purpose of encouraging excellence in service delivery.

4. Ensure that First Nations children and families have access to and receive equitable, culturally directed child and family services regardless of place of residency in British Columbia.

5. Ensure the well being of First Nations children, youth, families and communities by supporting the capacity of First Nations Child and Family Service Agencies to deliver quality, integrated, culturally sensitive child and family services.

6. Provide an opportunity for networking amongst First Nations child and family service agencies in British Columbia.

7. Develop and implement annual work plans for the Forum.
